Renita Carnes Named Team Member Training Coordinator for Legacy Senior Living, Management Company of Senior Living Communities
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (April 20, 2017) – Renita Carnes has been named the team member training coordinator for Cleveland-based Legacy Senior Living, management company of senior living communities.
In this new role, Renita will visit each Legacy community and will certify caregivers in the ADCT (Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care training). Throughout the training, memory care caregivers will learn how to better serve and accommodate residents with memory loss diseases.
“While training with team members in ADCT, I plan to focus on several training modules: diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, nutrition, activities, paranoia and communication. This training will certify each team member in Alzheimer’s and dementia care,” Carnes said.
Legacy Senior Living currently manages 12 senior living facilities throughout the Southeast specializing in independent living, assisted living or Alzheimer’s care services. Carnes is scheduled to visit each facility to train and certify the team members. Each caregiver who has received the training will be ADCT certified.
Carnes has been employed with Legacy Senior Living for 11 years. She was named executive director of Renaissance Marquis, facility in Rome, Ga., in 2012, where she successfully served for 3 years. In 2015, Carnes was promoted to Legacy Senior Living’s area director of operations, where she will continue to serve alongside her corporate training position.
“We are excited to have Renita in this position as she trains our caregivers. Assuring that our team members are well qualified to serve our memory care residents is one of our highest priorities. We understand the suffering that residents and family members go through when they experience dementia, and we want to be their source of comfort during those times,” Bryan Cook, chief operating officer of Legacy Senior Living, said.
